Lee Welborn: Mediator
Lee founded Cole House Mediation in 2006. Most of the mediations he has handled have involved personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents and premises liability such as slips and falls. He has also successfully mediated cases covering a wide variety of topics such as product liability, construction defects, boundary line disputes, real estate development, water runoff, landlord/tenant disputes, HOA/resident disputes, nuisance claims, airport noise complaints, mortgage fraud, contract disputes, business break-ups, credit card debt and will contests. He likes nothing better than to see the look of relief on the faces of people after they sign the Mediation Settlement Memorandum at the end of the mediation, knowing that they can finally lay down the burden they have carried for so long.
Lee Welborn: Litigator
Lee began practicing law at Downey & Cleveland in 1988. He has tried over 130 civil jury trials in 26 Georgia counties and two federal district courts. He has argued cases in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Most of his law practice has involved insurance defense, but he has represented plaintiffs as well, obtaining six-figure verdicts and seven-figure settlements for plaintiffs. Lee has his finger on the pulse of Georgia juries because he is in the trenches, trying cases, watching what juries do from the front line. Litigation is hard on clients and their attorneys. Juries are unpredictable. It is for this reason that he is such an advocate for mediation.
